The Hertfordshire-based club, which is part of BGL Group, was honoured for more than a decade of independently verified progress in sustainable course management. Redbourn now operates entirely on certified zero-emission electricity, avoiding more than 44 tonnes of CO₂ in 2024 alone. Independent carbon auditing also confirms that the club’s woodlands, roughs and naturalised areas sequester significantly more carbon than is emitted through energy and fuel use, placing the site in a net-positive carbon position.

The company’s inaugural BGL Conference marked a significant milestone for the organisation under CEO Simon Thompson, who joined the business in 2025. Senior leaders used the conference to outline BGL’s strategic direction while introducing a new balanced scorecard process to track against key objectives.
