Our Journey
We have been on a continuous journey to improve our customers experience through the service and facilities we provide.
Our journey began in 1947 with the opening of our first venue, Burhill Golf Club, which laid the foundation for our commitment to providing outstanding golfing experiences. In 1982, we expanded our portfolio by acquiring Hoebridge Golf Centre, marking the start of our growth. This was followed by the addition of Wycombe in 1991, Thornbury and Ramsdale in 1992, further enriching our offerings. Our ambition continued to flourish, culminating in the opening of another 5 sites finishing with Birchwood Park Golf & Country Club in 1997.

The hard work across the golf division has led to achieving carbon neutrality across its 11 golf venues. This achievement reflects a significant step towards environmental responsibility, as the organisation implements eco-friendly practices, such as using renewable energy sources, optimising resource efficiency, and enhancing biodiversity across its courses.
Being carbon neutral is vital in combating climate change and reducing the overall carbon footprint of recreational activities. This commitment to environmental stewardship enhances the experience for golfers while ensuring the preservation of natural resources.

With 22 courses across our 10 golf clubs, ranging from Championship 18 holes, to time saving short courses, we take pride in the quality and sustainability initiatives around our golf courses.
Driving Ranges
We have been on a mission to transform our driving range experience for our customers, and by turning them into a destination for golfers to play, practice and socialise with cutting edge Trackman technology we have seen participation soar!
Health & Fitness
We have two fitness facilities based within 2 of our golf clubs, the largest being at Birchwood Park Golf & Country Club, where innovation meets motivation! We are proud to offer a premium fitness experience featuring advanced Technogym and MyZone equipment designed to help our customers achieve their fitness goals.
Restaurants
Serving delicious food in comfy, informal atmospheres, our restaurants are open daily for hearty breakfasts, light meals or even coffee catch ups with friends.
Function Spaces
Across BGL Golf, many of our venues are host to a range of celebrations/events. Our stunning venues offer the perfect backdrop for parties and celebrations, whether it’s a birthday bash, an anniversary soirée, a baby shower, or a corporate gathering.

BGL own and manage over 1,400 hectares of British countryside. This is a significant ecological resource and we take our stewardship of this land very seriously. We have put in place 7 commitments to take action within our water & energy usage, waste management and our local community to achieve Net Zero in the near future!
These commitments are geared towards achieving the maximum environmental potential of each site whilst never losing sight of the primary golfing objectives.
